The winter season is beautiful full of snow and ice. Along with the beauty, dry conditions and the wind can be harmful to our skin. Make sure you protect your face this season by following a few tips for natural skincare.
Although the most moisturized skin could become dry in winter months. We are of the opinion that if dress in layers to keep the wind from our skin the skin, it will automatically be protected. It’s not the reality. If we do not moisten our skin in the winter the skin will dry, itchy, and red.
1. Drink plenty of water. Our bodies contain 90 percent water. The water helps keep our organs hydrated and the largest organ in our body is the skin. Drinking water keeps our skin hydrated from within. When we sweat, it is essential that we replenish the amount of water lost via our pores.
2. Moisturize at night-Even if we apply NAD + Resveratrol Face Cream lotions or creams during the day, it is possible that we may forget to put on a moisturizer at the night. It is normal to cover ourselves to remain warm, but that’s not enough. The activities we engage in throughout the day deplete the skin’s moisture and not moisturizing your skin at evening continues to affect the process. Make sure to cover your skin with an oily lotion prior to bed. To keep your feet from becoming damaged and dry, massage the feet with a natural salve or balm, and then cover them with socks.
3. Sunscreen is a must. Most people don’t consider the winter sun as hot, but any time when the sun is shining, it’s giving off radiation. The harmful radiation from the sun could dry out our skin and damaging to it both on the outside and more deeply. Many natural skincare products contain zinc , the mineral that works as natural sunscreen.
4. Use a humidifier. The air in winter can be very dry. Even in the house it can be very hot and have an effect of drying the skin as well as the nasal passages. To add moisture to the air invest in humidifiers. There are two kinds of humidifiers of humidifiers: cool and warm. Cool mist humidifiers add moisture to the air however, it reduces the temperature by couple of degrees to provide ease of use.
5. Exfoliate your skin-This can be done with skin creams that contain microbeads, a sugar scrub or using a loofah. Utilizing gentle circular movements this exfoliant is able to remove dead skin cells from the body. A once-a-week scrub allows healthier skin cells absorb the moisturizers in a better way and skin maintains the right amount of moisture.
6. Use cooler showers. Hot water feels great on tired muscles but it can do a number for our face. Instead use lukewarm water and shower for less time to stop your skin from drying out.
